It’s been a while since The Invisible put anything out, three years in fact. I remember the hype around them when their debut self-titled album came out about them being the UK version of TV ON THE RADIO which is the kind of hype that doesn’t do anybody any favours. Needless to say, they kind of vanished without a trace back into relative obscurity.
Well, they’re back and their new album Rispah is nothing short of brilliant. It’s far harsher than their first album and has a gorgeous soundscape as well. Whereas I wasn’t that fussed whether or not I saw them live after the debut, I am pretty intrigued as to how this album sounds in a gig environment. Ninja Tune, the band’s current record label, have put the whole album up to stream on their soundcloud. It’s well worth checking out as it rewards you with each listen.
